Hey there,
Welcome to March everyone! Hopefully you all had a happy and healthy February. Thank you so much to all of you for your orders last month, it was the busiest I've ever been!
Last month, to honor black history month, 50% of the proceeds from your orders went to the NAACP empowerment program. The NAACP has been supporting the black community since 1909, and the empowerment program specifically is used for education, criminal justice, economic development, and healthcare purposes. I'm proud to have supported them last month, and will likely do so again in the future!
This month, since it is women's history month, we will be supporting the Malala Fund! Malala Yousafzai is young woman is a Pakistani activist for women's rights, specifically to education, and became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner ever at just seventeen. Many are familiar with her story, but if you are looking for more information on her life, I will link her website here. The organization she started, the Malala Fund, was started in 2013, and is dedicated to advocacy, increasing access to education, and amplifying girl's voices. The money donated to them goes to funding schools for girls in countries like Afghanistan, Brazil, Ethiopia, India and more. I trust them to do good with your money, and I hope you do too.
The monthly specials from February were the Valentines day bag, and the heart shaped loaf of bread, and since February is over they are unfortunately no longer available. However, they may make a return this time next year... you'll just have to wait and see!
New on the menu this month are both the March specials and the Spring menu! To welcome the new season, I have added a total of six new items to the menu, two of them being March only. The Spring Menu will rotate, grow and change as the season continues. Check out what we have available now here!
The March specials are (drum roll please) Irish soda bread to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17th, and cloud sandwich cookies for World Meteorological Day on March 23rd. Irish soda bread is scone like tea bread, that is thought to have started in 1836, and has since become a staple of Irish baking! The cloud sandwich cookies are light almond sugar cookies filled with marshmallow cream and decorated with royal icing. Both will be listen on my menu soon!
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have an amazing month. Please leave any questions in the comments or contact me directly.
All the love,
Grace
